Pastor Troy Kills Saddam Hussein
Add former president of Iraq, Saddam Hussein to the list of words that can’t be said in America.
Georgia rapper Pastor Troy was set to release his latest album, named after the deceased Hussein, until several major chains refused to carry an album with that title. Troy, no stranger to controversy, opted not to fight the decision and changed the album name to Tool Muziq.
“The ‘Saddam’ title was just a metaphor for how I was comin’ back for my shit, hostile takeover-style”, reveals Troy. “I’m gonna bring genocide to the rap game. It wasn’t political or anything like that. I’ve got love for the troops, they’ve always supported me and I support them. So now I’m just gonna give’em Tool Muziq ‘cause that’s what this album is – hardcore gangsta shit.”
In spite of the album title change, Troy’s label, SMC is excited about their continuing partnership.
“Troy has always been the epitome of an independent underground artist, but when he signed to a major they took the "fuck you" right out of him,” SMC COO Will Bronson says. "Troy's got that passion back and for lack of a better phrase- we ready!"
Tool Muziq hits store shelves this summer and features production from Shawty Red, Drumma Boy, DJ Squeeky and Zaytoven and appearances from Hitman Sammy Sam ("Stepdaddy"), Fabo (of D4L fame) and former Three 6 Mafia first lady Gangsta Boo.
Look for Tool Muziq this summer.
