HHDX News Bits (Prodigy Readies "H.N.I.C."...the Movie, Dilated Peoples)

Prodigy of Mobb Deep has been a workhorse as of late. Just after releasing a new solo album/mixtape via Koch Records, it has been announce that Prodigy will not only be releasing a true sophmore album in H.N.I.C. Part 2, but will also be releasing an album titled "H.N.I.C."

The film will star Prodigy with Hassan Johnson ("Wee-bey" from The Wire), J.D. Williams ("Bodie" from The Wire), Davetta Sherwood and Rick Gonzalez.

Production for the movie is scheduled for Spring 2007, whereas the album is to be released later in the year.

According to XXL, Dilated Peoples are in talks with long-time friend and collaborator, The Alchemist, about signing to is ALC Records imprint.

A lot of people are calling, [but] we havent really been answering because were doing it like back in the days,...Im not too excited or eager [because] we have learned too much to just sign up again. I know Alchemist is starting ALC Records and there has been big talk about Dilated being the first group he puts out. said Evidence.

Last year, the trio - consisting of Evidence, Rakaa Iriscience and DJ Babu - finished their recording contract with Capitol Records, after the release of their album 20/20.
