Pitbull Worth 9.1 Million? TVT Vs. Slip-N-Slide!
The album debut was halted by TVT after the company sent numerous letters to various distributors claiming that the album was fraudulently made. TVT also stated that Slip-N-Slide was just trying to cash in on the success that Pit has garnered over the years.
"The jury rejected all those claims," said Slip-N-Slide lawyer Richard C. Wolfe. "We own the album. We're going to tack $1 million to $2 million in legal fees onto this, too."
Pitbull (Armando Perez) gained notoriety after signing to TVT Records in 2003 where his 2004 album Money is a Major Issue peaked at #14 on Billboard's 200 and reached gold status.
TVT is expected to appeal the jury's decision on the case.
''The jury was entirely dismissive of the facts we presented in this case,"said TVT lawyer Brian Kaplan. "The verdict is contrary to and unsupported by the evidence in the case, as well as being excessive.''
