One of independent hip hop's most revered and influential labels - Rhymesayers Entertainment - has joined Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group for a distribution deal. The ILG will now control RSE's catalog and distribute their albums via their Alternative Distribution Alliance. This will begin on their next releease, Brother Ali's The Undisputed Truth dropping on April 10th.

Rhymesayers co-founder Brent "Siddiq" Sayers says Warner appealed to him because he'll have access to major label services at his discretion, rather than being held to automatic sales point in which an artist must move up to the parent group. "If we have someone who wants to be on a major label, we can, in fact, do that. But if we have someone, like Atmosphere, who does not want to do that, we can keep doing what we're doing and bring in some select [promotional/marketing] services," he told Billboard.

Other labels under Warner's ILG are Asylum, East West and Cordless Recordings. Rhymesayers Entertainment is home to the likes of Atmosphere, Brother Ali, MF DOOM, Soul Position, Felt, P.O.S. Eyedea & Abilities and more.
