A new film takes aim at all the negative that makes up media conglomerate Viacom.
Turn Off Channel Zero,
a collaborative effort from various activists artists, media
personalities and actors takes a hard look at MTV, BET (often the
subject of criticism at DX) and VH1.
One of Hip Hops most outspoken and controversial activists/artists,
Public Enemys Professor Griff makes an appearance in the film.
Zero differs
from other documentaries of its kind by also taking a look at the
people behind the scenes, including CBS and Viacom chairman Sumner Redstone (if youre not up on him, hit up Google).
Particular attention is given to VH1s popular reality show, Flava of Love and the depictions of Black
men and women on the show. The Flavor of Love is showing the whole world who they think we are, says one of the films interviewees.

also shows the other side of the coin, interviewing Black men and women
who see nothing wrong with the images on todays TV screens, dubbing
them little more than entertainment.
"From here on out, we are going to control our own images," says Professor Griff.
