HHDX News Bits (Beyonce, Gay Rappers, Hip Hop Documentary)
Beyonce has been named the most desirable woman of 2007 by Askmen.com. 8.5 million visitors voted for celebrity favorites according to their level of sex appeal, intelligence, ambition, charisma and humor. Of the 200 candidates, Beyonce earned the number one spot, making her the only African American within the top 10 most desirable women and along with Rhianna and Tyra Banks; they are the only Black women within the top 30.
In light of Confessions of a Video Vixen, another tell all book will hit the market next year. Hiding in Hip-Hop: Confessions of a Down Low Brother in the Entertainment Industry by Terrance Dean will tell the tales of his years as a closeted homosexual and his relations with top billing entertainers.
While the names will not be disclosed, Deans spokeswoman promises, You'll know who they areIt's a no-holds-barred look at Hollywood and hip-hop and who's living on the down-low."
PBS will air the Hip Hop documentary, Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats and Rhymes, directed by Byron Hurt, on Feb 20th.
The documentary features several artists such as Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Mos Def, and Talib Kweli as they discuss misogyny, masculinity and homophobia in the music industry.
