Katt Williams - Decision Delayed
He was not initially arrested in the case but charges were issued when the case was submitted to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutors Office. Testifying in court on Tuesday was Lori Bittle, Kalamazoo county deputy. She said Williams told her he carried them for protection, and didnt know they were illegal in Michigan, after a security officer found the stun guns.
Kalamazoo County District Judge Vincent Westra ordered the tasers to be tested to confirm whether they were in working order before deciding whether Williams should stand trial on two counts of possession of an illegal weapon.
Prosecutors said Williams wasnt notified of the warrant until his November 6 arrest when an allegedly stolen handgun was found in his carry-on bag at Los Angeles International airport. Three more weapons were also found in checked bags. Williams, who is currently out on $50,000 bond, faces up to four years in prison or a $2,000 fine if convicted. A preliminary hearing will be continued on December 20.
