This Halloween, Jay-Z was on Hot 97 for an Interview with Angie Martinez.
HipHopDX let you know about Jay’s latest interview with Funk Flex. Where Jay-Z aired out Jim Jones and let the world know he still has it with a fresh freestyle. Only a day later, it’s Angie Martinez’ turn to pick Hov’s brain.
Topics run rampant during the 30+ minute session. Speaking on his relationships with 50 Cent and Nas, on Def Jam artists being mad, and his thoughts on the Swagger Jacker that was released some time ago, which is quoted…
“…my thing is, if you take my work. I mean like 400 or something songs, I don’t know the number. Right, if you take my work and you take songs that interpret songs of other people’s work, it will be less then like 10% now. Somebody on the internet’s probably doing it right now…”
“…if I was the only one doing it, then I’d understand that. That’s not uncommon, that’s part of hip hop. I just make smashes with em’. Some dudes be doing it for nothing. My joints be like smashes! I’m sorry, forgive my arrogance…*laughs.”
Hov also announces that himself and Green Lantern are working on a mixtape entitled the Presidential Invasion Mixtape. Which promises all new joints and exclusive freestyles that won't be featured on the album, Kingdom Come; a street mixtape for the people. “I’ve got this one joint, wooooow. I wanna put it on the album it’s so crazy. But it’s not really my track,” Jay reveals to Hot 97.
Oh and did I mention, Mr. Carter threatens to push his album up to the 14th to compete with The Game? Yea … Hov is back.
