Iverson Scraps Album

October 4th, 2001 | Author:

Allen Iverson has more than defending his title as the NBA's best player from Michael Jordan these days, he also has a rap career to worry about. Well, he did...

Iverson has decided to pull the plug on his debut rap LP, amid controversy over some of his lyrics. He had received a lot of criticism over thuggish lyrics on his first single, 40 Bars, that was released last year. NBA commissioner David Stern spoke to Iverson about maintaining the league's family image, and there was also the usual outcry from conservative censorship groups.

"It was a childhood dream of mine, just like basketball," said Iverson, "but I feel like people took it the wrong way." So it seems that AI has hung up the mic, with tales of gunplay and gangsterism, in favour of kicks and hoops for good.
