Timbaland Eyes Cross Over Success with New Label

July 17th, 2006 | Author: Darryl Gudmundson

The producer/rapper who made himself famous with his partner, Magoo, as well as production for Missy Elliot, Ms. Jade & Bubba Sparxxx, has ventured into the record label business again in his second outing.  The previous label, Beat Club Records, had gained some attention in the late 90's with hits from those artists, but was forced to shut down after the labels promotions were cut short.

Since then, Timbaland has doubled his efforts and cashed in with Canadian songbird, Nelly Furtado's Loose , which has cornered the ringtone and pop airplay markets under the new Mosley Music Group(MMG) with distribution under Interscope/Geffen/A&M

Loose entered the Billboard 200 at number one.

Next in line for the label is singer-songwriter Keri Hilson who has written songs for Mary J. Blige and The Pussycat Dolls.

"Mosley Music Group is a label where the doors are open to all kinds of music." Timbo says,

The super-producer is hard at work for his next project with Will.i.am and Justin Timberlake on JT's next album, FutureSex/LoveSounds.
