Rappers DJ Quik and Hi-C are suing The Source magazine, the city of Pasadena, CA, and the Pasadena Police for negligence in relation to last year's Source Awards. Quik and Hi-C said that as they entered last year's awards service, they were attacked then handcuffed by police. They were free shortly thereafter.

The suit maintains that The Source was negligent insuring their safety. It also includes charges of assault and battery and violation of civil rights directed at the city and the police department. The two are seeking unspecified damages.
