MTV2 Rocks Out

There is an old expression that goes something like, give the people what they want. It seems that the folks at MTV2 have taken that to heart. On Sunday, July 30th MTV2 will air the first ever "All That Rocks award show. No, not that kind of award show, this is a wholeX new breed. All That Rocks will not feature award categories with terms like Best Supporting attached; its handing out awards for the Sickest Sports Moment."

Since the show is catering to the attitude of the Do It Yourself generation, more concerning with what makes their eyes pop than the artistic merit as determined by a senior citizen, they will have the opportunity to determine the winners themselves.

MTV2s first annual All That Rocks allows us to give our audience a chance to be front and center by honoring everything they think is hot right now - from the music and bands to the video games and gadgets they love, stated David Cohn, GM, MTV2. The show is an all access pass to what truly matters to our audience - driven by them, for them - saluting everything that they think rocks.

Voting for the show began June 19th, and MTV2 even flipped the script on the normally simple voting process. Through a partnership with iFilm, fans who visit allthatrocks.mtv2.com will be able to vote and upload their own video, letting the world know just who they think rocks. Some lucky individuals will find their videos being used as promos for the show. A select view in attendance will even get their own video cameras to capture the show from their perspective, a perspective which the whole world will get to see. Now what if you cant see the show? School? Work? Hot date? No problem. MTV Overdrive will offer the show on-demand while throwing in exclusive performances from Flyleaf, Lil Wayne and 30 Seconds to Mars.

The show airs at 9 PM EST on MTV2 and will be hosted by Bam Margera and Ryan Dunn, performances will include Lil Wayne, Flyleaf and 30 Seconds to Mars. Check the categories and nominees below:
