Man Allegedly Shot by Proof Dies
In another sad turn of events surrounding the shooting death of D-12 member Proof, the other man, whom Proof allegedly shot has also died.
35-year-old Keith Bender died early Tuesday according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Bender had been in critical condition after being shot after allegedly arguing with Proof. The rapper is said to have shot Bender in the head, before being killed himself by a bouncer at Detroits CCC night club.
Mario Etheridge, Benders cousin says he shot Proof in self defense. He will not be charged for the murder and pleaded not guilty to two lesser charges, carrying a concealed weapon and discharging a firearm in a public building.
At the time of his death, Proof, born Deshaun Holton was 32. Fans unfamiliar with the Detroit Hip Hop scene would best remember him for being a member of D-12, and Eminems friend and hype man.
