Formerly famous Philadelphia rapper Christopher Roney aka Cool C will be put to death March 9 ( Ironically the same day Biggie died; Not to make any comparisons between the two artists) by lethal injection according the Associated Press.
Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell signed an execution warrant January 11 for Cool C, 36, who is currently an inmate at Pennsylvania State Correctional Institution.
Christopher Roney, was convicted in October 1996 of murder in the first degree for the shooting death one of Philadelphia’s first female police officers, Lauretha Vaird
The shooting took place during a failed bank robbery January 2, 1996.
Warren “Steady B” McGlone, one of the famed founders and members of The Hilltop Hustlers along with Cool C was also convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
Cool C is best known for his singles Glamorous Life and I Gotta Habit.
He later signed a solo deal with Atlantic Records and released 1989’s I Gotta Habit and 1990’s Life in the Ghetto. He linked up with Steady B and fellow rapper Ultimate Eaze to form the group C.E.B., which recorded the 1993 release Countin’ Endless Bank.
