The series will travel the road with a girl who, like Keys, grows up in a bi-racial family in New Yorks Hells Kitchen which is known as one of the roughest areas in the city.

At the tender age of six, she learns classical piano. As she gets older, she sets out on a journey to take in her New York surroundings, particularly Harlem.

Keys, born to a White mother and a Black father, serves as executive producer on the yet-to-be titled show which will be penned by Felicia Henderson of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Moesha and Soul Food fame.

Recently, BET reported that Keys will be appearing in her first feature film, Smokin Aces, in which she plays an assassin hired to eliminate a mob snitch.
