Rapper Mystikal, famous for hits like Danger is in trouble with the law once again.

The once promising Grammy-nominated rapper faces more legal woes as he has been sentenced to another year in prison for attempting to cheat the government out of $271,000 in taxes.

U.S. District Judge James Brady spoke about the sentence.

I dont know that adding to your incarceration by nine months is going to make that much of a difference, he said. But in the federal system, theyre going to be looking at you closely. If youre stupid enough or careless enough to get into trouble again, youre going to be incarcerated for a long time.

Brady said he would allow Mystikal to serve this sentence along with the one he is presently serving. Currently, he is in prison on a six-year sentence for a video taped sexual assault against his former hairstylist.

In 2003, Mystikal acknowledged guilt for sexual assault charges when he confessed to forcing the woman to perform oral sex after claiming she stole $80,000.

In August of last year, Mystikal also plead guilty, this time for the taxes when he failed to file tax returns of more than $800,000 in 1998 and more than $900,000 in 1999. He was ordered to pay back taxes along with penalties in addition to the year he will serve.

Judge Brady spoke directly to Mystikal in an optimistic tone about his crimes and his future.

You had the start of a really good artistic career. I dont know if you got caught up with the money coming in too fast to get into the trouble you got into. But I think you have time to start over. I hope you pick up, go on and beat your drum. I also hope you recognize that you have a lot of responsibility that comes with your success, he said.

According to Mystikal's lawyer, his client's actions show he is attempting to do just what the judge said.Hes not only accepted responsibility for his actions in writing, but also in his actions, through the sale of property to repay this debt, he said.

He has prevailed upon his family to do the same.
