Hours after the death of Queens, New York rapper Chinx, Jay Z spoke on the 31-year-old musician’s passing during his second B-Sides concert in New York City, yesterday (May 17).

The Brooklyn, New York lyricist offered a “rest in peace” to Chinx before questioning why people are still killing one another when they’re “under attack like never before.”

“[A] young man got killed in Queens,” Jay Z said. “His name was Chinx. And I think it’s real important for us—Like, I can’t understand that we’re seriously under attack like never before. Rest in peace to Chinx. And we still killing each other. We need to understand that we are kings and queens.”
