With fans as well as members of the group itself somewhat lukewarm on the Wu-Tang Clan’s last album, A Better Tomorrow, rapper Raekwon says there’s always the possibility of one more project.
Rae’s just-released solo album, Fly International Luxurious Art, might be demanding all of his attention for now, but in a recent interview with MTV the rapper touched briefly on his thoughts about another Wu album.
“I never close the door on what we’re capable of doing,” Rae said in an interview with MTV. “Being that everybody wasn’t so fully happy about this last project, yeah, it’s a possibility that you’ll get another one real soon, hopefully. I think we just gotta wait and see.”
Raekwon hinted that scheduling and finding themselves on the same page conceptually was and continues to be the biggest challenge facing the group’s recording process.
“We’ve been doing it for a long time, too, as a crew,” he said. “So, everybody’s mind is in a different place. When we come together, I always want it to be 100 percent dedication and time within that album. That’s always been a problem because there’s so many of us.”
As for the reception to last year’s A Better Tomorrow, Rae issued a message to fans that RZA wasn’t at fault for the unexpected direction.
“I don’t ever want nobody to ever think that everything is RZA’s fault based on that album not being what that we expected,” Rae said. “It was just that everybody was just all over the place.”

Last album was nice, but it’s not the project you want to put out last. Go out with a bang! And that new Rae is nice!
don’t believe it.. they only want to do another album because the last one sucked and the good one they do have won’t see the light of day for 88 years (genius RZA, pure genius).
How you know it’s good when they didn’t have all their input
That’s a Cilvaringz album with Wu Tang guest spots, RZA has only recently attached his name to it because ‘Ringz realized no one cared about it. It’s not a Wu album and likely nothing spectacular.
They need to do one more album with Rza jus enjoying himself behind the mic rather than behind the boards this time around
Maaaannn. Fuck wu tang..if they do try do some shit they should get Apollo brown. Pete rock. Mathematics. Premo. And not have it a RZA production… He can wait 88 years to be involved… Maaan…I only listen to their solo. Wu tang is dead to me beyond resuscitation.
I agree. Apollo Brown should produce the next project. It would be fire then,
I would include Digi-Phonics. They do a great job with TDE production.
Apollo’s nice, but he tends to get a little repetitive at times.
I’d rather hear repetitive than horrible, which RZA has basically been lately.
Hope its better than the last…………better tomorrow was pure garbage.
that album was pretty fucking hot to me..so I don’t get what’s the let down is. I’m happy with it, but I’d damn sure like to get another wu album!
I’m glad you felt that way, bc I did too. With the exceptions of Keep Watch & Miracles, I thought it was a straight banger. The sequencing of the songs imo was almost like a movie score with Rukus being the crazy action intro, and Family Reunion as ending credits. It wasn’t too bad. I think people get so hyped up over negativity and bandwagon negative feedback without actually sitting down and dissecting the album carefully. I mean, it took me a couple of listens to get into it, and that’s what people don’t want to do with albums today.
I’m always excited to hear that Wu tang will do another group album. For all the ABT haters, go back and really listen to the album. The lyrics are fire and the beats are different. That’s what Wu tang is about…they do different shit that doesn’t sound like others. Maybe it’s not what people expected, but definitely a “grown up” sound. That being said, I feel that the group has proved to be the best lyrical and stylistic mc’s in a hip hop crew. They are still better than anyone else out there. They need to just all have fun together and put out one more ridiculous album together. #wutangforever
I totally agree with you 3 guys. I wasn’t expecting anything but music, and I enjoy ABT.
At least he admits the last album was garbage. And you stans below don’t know real hip hop if you defend that piece of trash. Wu Tang is my favorite rap group of all time but I don’t even consider A Better Tomorrow a real Wu album.
Phuck all tht*the past two projects nobody in the camp was fully happy*I’m a wu head fa real*but they done far as being on same page*abt wuz dope & equaled grown man hip hop*just give the heads what we deserve*once upon a time in shaolin*
I guess cash does rule everything around him/Playboy/LoL
