Nelly’s felony drug charges dropped have been dropped, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

“I would like to thank my attorney Scott Rosenblum and the people of Tennessee for a very fair outcome,” Nelly says in a statement.

The St. Louis rapper was facing felony drug charges in Tennessee from an April incident in which Tennessee Highway Patrol said they found drug paraphernalia, marijuana and a plastic bag that contained a substance they believed to be methamphetamine on his tour bus. Testing showed the substance was not methamphetamine, authorities said.

Nelly pled guilty to misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and was sentenced to a year of probation for the two misdemeanors.

“We were confident from the onset of the charges that Nelly would be cleared and we are pleased with the outcome of dismissed charges,” Rosenblum says in a statement. “It was stated in open court that there was never any methamphetamines on his bus and absolutely no evidence present to pursue felony charges against Rap Super Star- Nelly. As for the misdemeanor consumption charge, Nelly took a diversion which means his record will be cleared of any misdemeanor charges.”

Nelly recently spoke with TMZ about his arrest for felony drug possession in Tennessee this past Saturday (April 11).

Reiterating the case his lawyer is arguing, Nelly suggests that the drugs found on the tour bus weren’t his.

“I feel the need to take responsibility for my choices in needing to be more aware of all the people I associate with and allow onto my property,” Nelly told TMZ.

“While my instinct of course, is to be accessible to my friends, fans and acquaintances, the last thing I would want to do is compromise the respect and admiration of my friends, family and fans,” Nelly later added.

According to a media release from the Tennessee Department Of Safety And Homeland Security, Trooper Michael Loftis and Tennessee Highway Patrol Sgt. Donald Jennings revealed five rocks which “tested positive for methamphetamine.”

Nelly’s lawyer issued the following statement to Billboard following his arrest:

“Nelly was one of several individuals that was on a tour bus that was stopped and searched while traveling through Tennessee,” lawyer Scott Rosenblum says. “In fact, there had been 15-20 people that had access to the bus prior to the stop. Allegedly, a small quantity of contraband (MDMA aka Molly or Ecstasy) was discovered during the routine search. We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered.”

Nelly, real name Cornell Haynes, was released from Tennessee’s Putnam County jail on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 19.
