Little Brother’s critical acclaim
Well on Tuesday night, Phonte and Big Pooh (9th Wonder was not in attendance) debuted their album for members of the press and the feedback received was nothing short of incredible.
The album plays as a sort of concept album that compares todays hip-hop to the minstrel shows from back in the day (blackface, shucking and jiving). The radio station concept from The Listening is still intact although this time it has been bought out by UBN (U Black Nias). As the album plays out as a satire about the current state of hip-hop, Little Brother is looking to take hip-hop back to where it should be.
The album features the likes of Elzhi and members of the Justus League family including YaZarah, Joe Scudda, Darien Brockington, Chaundon and includes production from 9th Wonder with a couple of tracks chipped in from Khrysis.
The albums is scheduled to be released September 13th on Atlantic Records with the tentative first single and video being Loving It.
