Easy Mo Bee’s tribute to Miles
The producer, who has worked with the likes of Notorious B.I.G. and Alicia Keys, is looking to get some of hip-hops finest to collaborate on a tribute album for the jazz legend.
"It's not just about remixing, it's about making something that means something," Easy said to MTV. "Everyone connected would have to have a [musical] connection to Miles. Alicia. I could see Mos Def fitting in. Jill Scott. Or I would give anything to work with D'Angelo."
The project is just getting underway but with no artists locked down as of yet, Easy is just getting started trying to lock down interested artists.
"With Jimi [Hendrix], his estate remains so active to this day," Easy said. "Miles Davis' estate, there's a lot more stuff that should be released. People should really know more about him. Maybe with an effort like this, we can achieve that."
Easy is in the studio with Mos Def and submitted tracks for The Games next album. No word on when the tribute will see the light of day.
