Kanye West commemorated the 100-year Anniversary of the Armenian genocide with an impromptu free concert at Swan Lake in Yerevan, Armenia yesterday (April 13).
West weaved through a number of his chart-topping hits such as “Stronger,” “Power” and “Jesus Walks.”
As thousands of native Armenians looked on, ‘Ye decided he wanted to be closer to the crowd. So, he jumped in to Swan Lake while “The Good Life” blared through speakers.

Several other attendees jumped in to the water, as well, swarming the rapper.
“It’s a problem. Can y’all see me over there?” West asked the crowd in Yerevan. “We’re going to do something different, like, like, like we always do…”
The concert ended after West‘s aquatic stunt.

Kim Kardashian West took to her Instagram to share her thoughts on the performance: “What a crazy night! Kanye wakes me up & says he’s doing a free concert in Yerevan, Armenia! I throw on sweats & we head out! Thousands of people were there! Kanye jumped in swan lake to be closer to the crowd on the other side & so many people jumped in too! It was such an exciting crazy night! So happy I got to rock out with everyone in Armenia on our last night here!!!!”
Armenian native and TMZ contributor Anna Kachikyan shared her sentiments after the show via Instagram.
“The Kardashians and Kanye West visiting Armenia brought huge global awareness to the Armenian Genocide cause. But last night in Armenia, when Kanye West gave a free concert in the capital for thousands of young Armenians– that was not only a night to remember but a huge eye opening experience for these kids. While we live in the comfort of our great free nation, current day Armenia is still a tough place to live and thrive. Kanye’s performance tonight lit up the entire capital during a very somber time.”
