After Rihanna released an exclusive video through Jay Z’s new streaming site TIDAL earlier this week, the service has just announced an even more enticing offer for listeners in New York City.
Moving beyond its own platform for its next exclusive, TIDAL has announced that a small handful of die-hard fans will get an opportunity to see J. Cole play a small private show in New York. Only five fans will get access to the show and the TIDAL users who rack up the highest number of plays of J. Cole’s music between April 11 and April 20 will be the ones selected for the special opportunity. The contest’s small-print on the TIDAL website reveals a second mail-in entry option as well and says winners will each receive two admittance passes to a still-mysterious 18+ show in the city.
TIDAL describes the show as “better than front row” and “closer than backstage” but no other details about the location or nature of the concert have been released.

The news comes just days after Cole returned to his alma mater, St. John’s University, for a homecoming concert on Thursday (April 9). After that show, Cole was honored with the diploma he never received despite posting up the requirements for graduation.
“I owed money for a library book that I didn’t turn in,” Cole admitted in an interview with The Village Voice. “If you have any outstanding fee, that translates to money. There’s a price associated with it. I never paid. That’s why I don’t have my degree.”
