Kevin Gates is no stranger to controversy, especially on Instagram.

The Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper, in the past, has inferred participating in incest, among other topics often prompting the question of whether he is actually serious about what he says on the social media site.

Gates recently took to IG to voice his frustration about the highest office in the land and the man who holds that office, Barack Obama. He stakes claim that President Obama is somehow connected to the increase in urban youth violence since 2008.

“Niggas so stupid, talking ’bout a change gon’ come.” he said in a recently posted video. “[Since] Obama been in office I done buried more of my niggas and more family than I ever did in my life. All he did was fuck a nigga money up since he been in office. Please get this nigga out of office.”

After many questioned Gates’ intentions and logic about what he had to say, he clarified his statements in a subsequent video post explaining, “No money in the streets means, beef, war in the streets, murder,” Gates said. “Mothers bury they children. The crime rate rise.”

Kevin Gates’ controversial posts tying the Commander-in-Chief to the rising murder rates in his hometown followed a rest in peace tribute he made on Instagram dedicated to a recently deceased friend.
