During an interview on Los Angeles’ Power 106, French Montana detailed his relationship with fellow artist Kanye West. He first spoke on co-producing Kanye’s “All Day,” before speaking on the best advice he received from the Chicago, Illinois rapper.

In regards to co-producing “All Day,” French says the two were going through music on his computer when they came across the beat for “All Day” and then created the song “right there on the spot.”

“We was in the studio working and I was going through a bunch of stuff on my computer,” French Montana said. “And he just heard that joint. And we did it right there on the spot. The hook and everything. And shout out to Velous. He the one that actually went and put the whole beat together with us. And he was actually there with us. But we put the whole thing together. You know, Kanye’s a genius. He’s a genius.”

French Montana later revealed that the best advice he received from Kanye, who he referred to as “a genius,” was likely received while watching one of his interviews.

“Actually, the best advice is when I watch his interviews,” the rapper said. “He’s a genius. Even though he go on a rant…He’s pretty cool when we chilling. I remember me and him was listening to music. This was like a funny story. I forgot where we was at. He’s letting me hear a bunch of his music. So, I guess he pressed something and somebody got on the phone. And he just stopped the music. He said ‘I mean, do you want me to start this over? How you want me to do this’…He’s really serious about that. So, if he playing you something from his computer, you better listen and focus.”

The Bronx, New York rapper also spoke on the importance of his music being reached by those outside of New York City.

“Coming from New York you don’t really hear a lot of New York artists everywhere else besides the East Coast,” French said. “It’s a big thing for me. Just to touch everywhere, every part of the world. But definitely L.A. though. Cause I came up on Tupac and Big. I came up on the whole East Side/West Side thing.”
