Chris Brown Disses Drake

Chris Brown confirmed that he and Drake are not friends and alluded to him as a “corny singing rapper” in an interview with Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club.

Brown went on to discuss how the media tends to focus on the negative aspects of his image.

“I feel like the only thing that’s highlighted in my career for the last five years is my negativity,” Brown said. “But only thing I can do is put my positive music out and do what I do. And be great at that. That’s the only thing that has been successful is the music. And people can’t deny an undeniable hit…I’m not gonna sit there and say I’m a saint, but I definitely say a lot of the choices I made in the past reflect now. So, now I don’t have that benefit—You don’t get that benefit of the doubt. Like ‘Oh Chris ain’t do that. Come on now.’ People be like ‘Nah, he did it.’ Because of my past decisions. I’m more vigilant of my surroundings and where I go…I’m not a street dude. I don’t portray myself to try to be tough. I’m just who I am.”

“I took some shrooms in St. Louis, Missouri and Marshall, he was coming back from sound check I guess,” he remembered. “And I guess they was a couple miles away from the hotel and they said they seen me walking down the street and they pulled up on me and Marshall was like, ‘What is you doing? Why you out here?’ And they said that I told them that I was going to join a gang.”

Comedian Mike Epps compliments the lyricist of Kendrick Lamar and compares him to one of Hip Hop’s all time greats in a recent interview.

“I think he’s a great lyricist,” Epps says. “The dude is really ahead of his time. Some of the words that he puts together is really of our day and he really represents this generation. Drake tops Hip Hop album sales for the second week in a row, but he falls to #2 on the Billboard charts behind Imagine Dragons.

“The latest sales report still brings good news for the Toronto rapper as Drake has passed the required numbers for a Gold album certification, adding on another 129,000 sales this period,” HipHopDX reports. “At the same time, Drake’s fellow Young Money superstar Nicki Minaj made her way back into the Top 10 after falling to #12 last week.”
