Wu-Tang ClanĀ is one of the most storied groups in Hip Hop history so whenever a new-comer, especially one that isnā€™t from New York and doesnā€™t typically have as intricate a rhyming style as the Wu, decides to name a song after one of the Clanā€™s, it becomes controversial.

Thatā€™s exactly what Drake did when he titled a song off of his last solo studio album, Nothing Was The Same, with ā€œWu-Tang Forever.ā€ Even the Clan was split about how to react to what the Toronto native did.

Recently, before a recent show in Toronto, Ghostface Killah, a long-known supporter of Drake, spoke to members of the Canadian press about the OVO boss.

ā€œDrake is brilliant,ā€ Ghost told members of the press after being asked about the Canadian emcee.Ā ā€œI donā€™t look at Drake like these other little rhyme guys nowadays, because I think he can really spit a rhyme. So I put him in a different category.ā€

The Staten Island emcee and Wu member also came to Drakeā€™s defense when it comes to lyricism as many criticized him when he initially dropped the Wu-Tang-referencing track.

ā€œA lot of people might try to play him out ā€¦ but Iā€™m a lyricist, so once my antennas go up and I hear somebody who sounds really nice on the beat and got a lot of fans and stuff like that ā€¦ I keep listening to him,ā€ Ghost explained according to Yahoo Music Canada. ā€œHeā€™s just one who caught my ear. Heā€™s really, really doing his thing. I canā€™t (dump) on him. Nothing bad I can really say about him.ā€

Inspectah Deck is one member of Wu-Tang Clan who didnā€™t approve of Drakeā€™s ā€œWu-Tang Foreverā€ song. He cited the song had little to actually do with the Wu aside from itā€™s title and opening line. Read more of Ghostface Killahā€™s related statements here.
