“I am trying to give people the stuff that you don’t get just listening to the music,” he says. “What I am trying to do is to give people information that makes them perhaps understand the deeper meaning behind a particular track they are listening to and also to get some deeper knowledge about the artist.”

Tweets like: “@Drake originally auditioned for the role of a football player on Degrassi” and @Tip and @YoungThug recorded “About the Money” in 30 minutes” mix with lesser-known info such as Method Man is the only solo artist to appear on records with Tupac and Biggie before they passed away.

One rapper retweet can result in a lot of exposure. Bargathi found that out in 2013, when he shared that Tyler, The Creator doesn’t smoke or drink. Tyler retweeted it and replied: “Hip-hop facts, haha, I made it on there, that’s funny.”

Since, @HipHopFacts has added Hip Hop heads like Wiz Khalifa, Chuck D, Big Sean, Lil B to its hundreds of thousands of followers.

Bargathi had another noteworthy experience when Pharrell reached out to him to Tweet out an exclusive fact concerning his notoriously fragile voice giving out while recording with the legendary crew A Tribe Called Quest in his early years.
