A string of Hip Hop artists including Joey Bada$$, Talib Kweli and Madlib are slated to perform at the annual Dilla Day Weekend from February 5 – 8 in tribute of J Dilla, according to the event’s website.
This year, the weekend is scheduled to be held in Miami, instead of the traditional location of J Dilla’s hometown in Detroit.
J Dilla’s mother and host of the event, Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, recently spoke on the upcoming weekend.

“Dilla’s music is timeless and lives in all of us,” she says. “I expect Miami to become the icon of event holders for the Dilla legacy, and raise the bar for events globally.”
In addition to live performances, the event’s website states that there will also be producer panels, BBQs, artist meet and greets, and other Dilla-related events taking place.
