Recently Azealia Banks was a guest on Hot 97 and aired out her displeasure about cultural appropriation regarding Hip Hop, a slight to numerous artists particularly Iggy Azalea.

Not one to keep quiet herself, Iggy responded mostly by claiming Banks hasn’t had as successful of a career and that her negative attitude has kept her from more success.

“Special msg for banks: There are many black artists succeeding in all genres. The reason you haven’t is because of your piss poor attitude,” Azalea tweeted. “Your inability to be responsible for your own mistakes, bullying others, the inability to be humble or have self control. It’s YOU!” Subsequent to her response of Azealia Banks, Iggy Azalea received threats to her career and livelihood from hacking group Anonymous. They claim (via Twitter) that if Iggy doesn’t release an apology for “misappropriating black culture, insulting peaceful protesters, and making light of Eric Garner’s death” the memory of her “will burn from the public faster than the moment you surfaced.” They also make mention of the alleged sex tape Azalea was involved in but said they wouldn’t release it.

Originally, Azealia Banks took to the airways and claimed Azalea isn’t better than any black female artist making music and that she is misappropriating black culture.

“Cause it’s bigger than just playing the shit on radio, I don’t give a fuck, that’s fine bitch, do what you’re gunna do,” she said. “I have a problem when you’re saying that it’s hip-hop and putting it up against black culture.”
