50 Cent is never shy of expressing his opinion especially when it comes to his contemporaries in any one of his endeavors.

It has been known for some time that Jay Z has been trying to move his Roc Nation Sports management company into the boxing arena, one that 50 has been in for a long time. Confronted with this reality, the Queens native and former Floyd Mayweather companion sounded off about Jay and his proposed move. In a recent interview with BET.com, 50 Cent said that Jay is setting himself up for failure as boxing is like no other sport when it comes to promotion or management.

“I think they gonna clean Jay up,” 50 told said convincingly. “The sport of boxing is going to clean him up and he’s going to find out it’s not like any other portion of business that he’s been involved in.”

50’s beliefs most likely stem from how Jay has made his past moves, whether it be in sports or music. He compares boxing to the “fur coat business,” one that requires experience and a nuanced understanding of how the business is run.

“You can’t just buy your way into it by purchasing existing companies and stuff like that,” he said. “You look at the roster of fighters…you have to have experienced people around to run it. But boxing is like the fur coat business…we don’t know how much they actually sold the jacket for.”

Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports currently represents New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant and Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, among others. Back in August, Jay signed boxing industry veteran David Itskowitch to run its boxing division. Michael Yormark, president and chief of branding and strategy of Roc Nation, said during interview with ESPN.com at the time that Roc Nation plans to make boxing a “huge priority.”
