After FilmOn’s much anticipated “Ether” event was shut down in the middle of Cassidy’s headline battle against Dizaster last week, the two revisited their matchup in front of a small crowd in a nondescript parking garage in L.A. the next day. With footage itself leaked shortly after, the battle quickly spread and shot to the top of our Top 10 list with our own recap following at the runner-up spot.

Rounding out the Top 3, Rich Homie Quan enlists Drake for his new single “Tell Me Why” and Kendrick Lamar provides the hook for Punch’s latest single. Lower down the list, Meek Mill features on Nicki Minaj’s latest Pink Print single.

Cassidy Vs. Dizaster

After Joe Budden faced off against Hollow Da Don at Total Slaughter in July, Cassidy became the second big-name industry rapper to enter the battle rap arena against a seasoned vet in 2014 last weekend against Dizaster. “Ether” as a whole featured plenty of other notable battles, including an antic-free Daylyt against Serius Jones, but the venue was shut down in the middle of the headline battle.

FilmOn, an Internet-based television platform founded by billionaire Alki David, began its collaboration with Lush One’s Fresh Coast Media Group earlier this year and “Ether” served as the collaboration’s big debut. Drake Features On New Rich Homie Quan Single

Possibly set for a placement on the Rich Gang 2 album, a Drake featuring Rich Homie Quan single leaked with several other tracks from his collaboration with Young Thug earlier this week. Of the bunch, the Drake feature boosted this to the top of the pack and if Rich Homie Quan’s statements in an interview with MTV earlier this year are true, there should be another collaboration on the way.

“We’ve been working a lot—we’ve probably got like three or four tracks together, so he definitely will be on my album,” he said in September. “At first it was through e-mail, and after that I went on tour with Wiz Khalifa, the Under the Influence Tour. We went to Toronto, he hit me up, I pulled up on him at his house and we dropped some music.”

Kendrick Lamar Sings The Hook On Punch’s “25”

Top Dawg Entertainment President Punch released his latest solo record with a little help from label star Kendrick Lamar on the song’s hook. “25,” which mines The Jackson 5’s rendition of “Ain’t No Sunshine” for the backdrop, isn’t attached to an official release yet, finds Punch rapping introspectively, “My Korean war vet grandfather’s affliction / Was stress and I inherited his heart condition.”
