Green Label Sound has teamed up with its former artist RAC and the popular streaming music service SoundCloud for “Open Call,” a national talent search for up-and-coming musicians.
The winner of this contest will receive a package including a $50,000 grant towards recording an EP, contact with RAC, a music video, and the opportunity to perform at the Green Label House at SXSW 2015, the premiere music event.
Speaking to the influence of Green Label Sound and SoundCloud, RAC says, “After years of doing remixes, I released my first original track with Green Label Sound, their support kick-started a whole new side of my career. They gave me resources to do things that I had no way of doing on my own. I also owe a lot to SoundCloud. They’ve created an environment for artists to flourish and find a fan base, which didn’t exist before. I’m thrilled to work with DEW and SoundCloud for Green Label Sound: Open Call and it makes me so happy that they are continuing to support new artists.”

Through December 26, 2014, aspiring musicians across all genres are invited to visit Green Label’s Soundcloud page to submit an original piece of work for consideration by a panel of judges, including RAC and music industry veteran Marc Ecko, Founder and Chief Brand Officer of Complex. Ten semi-finalists will be selected and the contest winner will be chosen through a combination of judges’ input and consumer votes submitted from January 19 – 30, 2015.
