Following his recent, and pubic falling out with Young Money Records, Tyga has announced that he’ll be releasing his next studio album, The Gold Album, independently. The Compton, California rapper revealed the news in a message he posted on Twitter yesterday (December 4).

“#TheGoldAlbum is going to be my first independent release 2015,” Tyga announced via Twitter.

Earlier this year, Tyga informed fans that The Gold Album was complete, but was being held hostage by his label.

Tyga continued to criticize Young Money during an interview with Vibe magazine, which was published in October. He revealed that Young Money hasn’t had much of a role on The Gold Album since he’s chosen to distance himself from them

“Nah. I tend to distance myself from them,” Tyga said during his interview with Vibe. “Yeah, I’m tryna’ go independent. I don’t really get along with Drake. I don’t really get along with Nicki.”
