Joey Bada$$ saw musical success early in his life. He began getting a good national buzz at only 16 years of age and didn’t even finish high school. Now, after touring the world and in anticipation of releasing his debut album B4.Da.$$, the Brooklyn native returned to his high school with a little something for it.
Stopping by Edward R. Murrow High School, as recapped in a vlog released in coordination with the rapper, Joey donated $10,000 to the school’s music program while reconnecting with old friends, teachers and acquaintances. Joey Bada$$ raised the money through a partnership with the J Dilla Foundation and Akomplice Clothing, selling unreleased music and exclusive clothing. The money went to purchasing instruments and production equipment.
