The New York Times has updated a story about Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West with an “Editor’s Note” after it was discovered that their story, written by Joyce Wadler, featured fake quotes from Kanye.

The story, titled “Fear of Kim Kardashian’s Derrière,” was featured in the Times’ Fashion & Style section and was published last week.

According to XXLMag.com, the story featured quotes from the satirical website, The Daily Currant. Among the fake quotes used in the Times’ story was one in which Kanye declared:

“I don’t understand why everyone is focusing on Kim’s booty. Obviously I love her ass. That’s why I married her. But nobody has an ass like mine. I have one of the top three asses of all time. My booty is like Michelangelo level, you feel me? It’s like a sculpture.”

In addition to citing the false quote, the author also credited the quote to Chicago’s WGYN, a fake radio station.

An editor’s note from the New York Times, which is now featured at the bottom of the “Fear of Kim Kardashian’s Derrière” story and was added on November 22, states the following:

“An earlier version of this column was published in error. That version included what purported to be an interview that Kanye West gave to a Chicago radio station in which he compared his own derrière to that of his wife, Kim Kardashian. Mr. West’s quotes were taken, without attribution, from the satirical website The Daily Currant. There is no radio station WGYN in Chicago; the interview was fictitious, and should not have been included in the column.”
