When it concerns his music career, Compton, California rapper Kendrick Lamar revealed that he has no plans on adding a time limit to it. Kendrick was asked about possible rap retirement during an interview on The Madd Hatta Morning Show this week.

After stating that he doesn’t want to put a time on anything, the TDE lyricist then named Jay Z, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg as artists who may have attempted to retire from music, but ultimately found their way back.

“I definitely don’t want to put a time on nothing,” Kendrick said. “When you look at people like Jay Z. When you look at Dre. When you look at Snoop. This is their passion. How many times they said they gonna retire and you see ‘em back in that studio over and over again. So, I already know what that brings. Once you got a love for something it’s never going nowhere. So, definitely don’t wanna put a time especially this early in the game on my second album.”

K-Dot was also asked to name one book that changed something about him. In response to the question, he named “The Autobiography Of Malcolm X.” He said the book played a role in helping him communicate with people from different walks of life.

“For me, it’s about communicating with people,” he said. “You know, the more I communicate. I was one of them kids that was in the house [at] six, seven years old having full conversations with grown people that was at the party. So, taking that lifestyle and going across the world and talking to other people from other different cultures and walks of life, it gives you a little bit more wisdom. I had to see things the way you see it and make sense of everything that’s going on around you.”

During his interview with The Madd Hatta Morning Show, Kendrick also discussed his upcoming appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” his favorite eateries in Los Angeles, and more.
