While he has yet to announce the release date of his next album, Kendrick Lamar kept his name in the headlines with a string of promotion for his new video âiâ this week. In the process, fans learned that heâs feeling Taylor Swiftâs new single and even heard him freestyle over the track while visiting a radio station in Dallas. Swift returned the favor with a video of herself rapping along to a good kid m.A.A.d. city track.
Wu-Tang Clan also released another single with their upcoming album less than a month away. Elsewhere on the list we have new music from DJ Khaled, a mix that blends together Nas and Jay Electronica verses into a single track, a diss track from an NBA player, and more.
Kendrick Lamar Freestyles Over Taylor Swiftâs âShake It Offâ
After an audio clip of Kendrick Lamar singing along to Taylor Swiftâs new single was released earlier this week, the Pop star posted a video of herself rapping along to Kendrickâs âBackseat Freestyleâ on Instagram. Soon after, Kendrick visited the K104 radio station in Dallas and freestyled over âShake If Off.â

In a recent interview with The Fader, Kendrick reacted to comments from Taylor Swift that the singer listens to his album and one song in particular.
âShout out to Taylor Swift,â he said. âYou canât put great music in different genres. I enjoy great music outside of my own music all the time, so I definitely can see where sheâs coming from when she says that she listens to the record, and itâs a great thing for her to acknowledge that and put that good energy out into the world like that.â
Kendrick Lamar Releases âiâ Video
After the single was released in September, a new Alexandre Moors and the Little Homies directed music video for Kendrick Lamarâs âiâ hit the web this week. Beginning inside a club, the video follows Kendrick around South Central and then back, at one point rapping from the back seat of a swerving car.
