According to Complex.com, behind the scenes footage of Kanye West’s photoshoot with GQ magazine earlier this year has surfaced online. In the video footage, which has since been deleted due to a copyright claim, the Chicago, Illinois lyricist speaks on what his idea of perfection is.

According to Kanye, perfection starts at ground zero, and he instead needs “to take things to a genius level.” He also revealed that he isn’t concerned with being hated if it means that he doesn’t have to stifle his creativity.

“Most people are just satisfied with, ‘It’s good.’ Most people are satisfied at a 10, or something. It’s not to just stop at 10. You know, 10 is ground zero; perfection is ground zero. We need to take things to a genius level…I’d rather take the chance of being hated to bring that type of creation to the world,” Kanye said, according to Complex.com.

This doesn’t serve as the first time Kanye has touched on matters concerning creativity. During an interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last year, ‘Ye revealed that his title is “creative genius” and not rapper.

He then went on to explain why his creativity has branched outside of solely Hip Hop.

“My creativity is in no way limited to the genre of Hip Hop,” he said. “I feel like I’m like busting at the seams to do something more—Even when I did ‘Glow In The Dark’ it was pretty innovative. And like now we’re doing this and it’s innovative again…The pressure is just to create as much as possible. If you’re a creative person, it’s just to create as much as possible. Whatever you think of to get it off your chest. To get it out. And I feel blessed that I do have an outlet of this tour. Something that I can anchor a bunch of ideas against…The pressure is not like coming up with new stuff. The pressure is not getting things that you have in your mind out.”
