Philadelphia, Pennsylvania rapper Louie V Gutta compared fellow Philly emcee Beanie Sigel to Jay Z when he proclaimed Sigel “the Jay Z of Philadelphia,” during an interview with Mikey T The Movie Star. He revealed that similar to those who look up to Jay Z and the late Notorious B.I.G., those in Philadelphia look up to Beanie Sigel.

Gutta went on to add that Beans “put on for Philly the right way” and expressed his interest in working with the State Property rapper in the future.

“Beanie Sigel is like—He is the Jay Z of Philadelphia,” Louie V Gutta said. “So, it’s like you know how all the rappers in the game look up to Jay and all of them? Biggie, that New York thing. This is our—This is what we got to look up to. You know what I’m saying? As far as Philadelphia rap go you have Will Smith. And that’s like—He’s gone, but as far as the streets go we never had nobody like Beans. He really put on for Philly the right way. And really did it how he’s supposed to do it. So, it’s good that he home. Can’t wait til we do something together.”

Louie V Gutta later spoke on the impact of State Property in Philadelphia and credited the group for inspiring him to start rapping.

“They [State Property] had it locked down,” he said. “It wasn’t nothing you could do…If you come from Philly you really know how it felt at that time. That’s one of the reasons I even rap.”

Louie V Gutta’s conversation with Mikey T The Movie Star comes days after the release of the rapper’s most recent project, New Legend. His interview also follows Beanie Sigel’s release from prison after serving a two-year sentence for tax evasion.
