Eminem's Shady Records To Release

UPDATE #3: "SHADYXV" is set to feature one greatest hits disc and a disc full of new material.

Recently wrapping up his The Monster Tour with Rihanna, Eminem may be on his way toward creating a new album, some speculate.

While nothing is set in stone and details are slim, Eminem has recently taken to video and social media, mentioning what could be a new project. The Detroit native released a trailer for a film called "The Equalizer" on Friday (August 22) and at the end of it, his next song, "Guts Over Fear," was announced and apparently it will appear on a project called Shady XV. The trailer also may have revealed when Shady XV, whatever the project may be, is slated for release. Beside the title, "Black Friday" was mentioned, which may suggest the album is looking at a November drop date.

Several, including M Live and Rap-Up, have reported that Shady XV could be the name of an Eminem album.

Eminem also took to Twitter with the same hashtag. His manager, Paul Rosenberg, also tweeted "Shady XV" in June. 2014 marks the 15-year anniversary of Eminem's second studio album, The Slim Shady LP. Eminem's last album release was a sequel to his third album, The Marshall Mathers LP. The Marshall Mathers LP 2 was released on November 5, 2013.

UPDATE #2: Eminem's SHADYXV is set to be a double album, according to Billboard. One CD is meant to be a greatest hits while the other is a compilation album full of new material. The effort is set to feature Slaughterhouse, Yelawolf and D-12.

The project is slated to be released November 28.

UPDATE #3: SHADYXV is set to be a double album, consisting of a greatest hits project from the label, not just Eminem as previously reported.

Eminem's website says the following regarding the album:

"Founded in 1999, Eminem and Shady Records will celebrate the label’s 15th anniversary with its fifteenth release: ShadyXV, a two-CD compilation featuring an album of the label’s greatest hits, including classics such as 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” and Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” plus an album of new material from Eminem, Slaughterhouse, Bad Meets Evil, D-12 and Yelawolf as well as special guest-artist collaborations."

Damn all these troll comments. Whats a better hiphop site for discussion? Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing the shady camp together. Elwood and slaughterhouse really need that buzz. I just hope they do their thing insteadnof working with pop artists.

There is no better place because either they have shut off the comments, you have to register, or the commenters have moved to Twitter. Even if they say hotnewhiphop, they're already over there. It's back to school time, why you see the remarks of many that resemble what 13-22 year olds would say. This is the new age of social networking. And honestly, if you go on the "adult" sites, they are the same. Just realize this internet commenting gives the looney tunes a voice where they can't talk or are dysfunctional in, which is real time society. 1

for sure. eminem cant even do hooks. he needs pop stars on them to stay relevant. niggas need drake on the hook to stay relevant. Drake is the greatest to ever do it lyrically. and this is coming from an em stan
    • Anonymous
Eminem has been relevant without pop stars. No one besides Wayne and OVO needs Drake to stay relevant. Drake is not the best lyrcially.
  • TO vs Everybody
Eminem is no doubt the most overrated rapper in the game. he can be the the self-proclaimed "rap god" but we all know that title is drakes. not only did NWTS do better than MMLP2 on the boards but its even more critically acclaimed. Drake is the rap god fuck shady. he's not even black
    • Anonymous
No, Drake is the most overrated rapper ever. Eminem has every right to call himself a rap god, Drake doesn't. FYI, MMLP2 did better commercially and critically than NWTS.
    • Anonymous
It shows this young punk was born in the late 90's.
    • Come On
I'm a Drake fan too but his album NWTS did not out sell Marshall Mathers LP2 do your research before you talk shit Eminem sold about a million more than Drake on their last releases.
    • Anonymous
Your comment is seriously laughable. Every rapper is scared to even look at eminem wrong, cause if em feels any kind of disrespect he will end their career just like he has proven in the past. Its an unwritten rule in rap to not fuck with em cause you will get murdered. Drakes soft ass definitely knows this which is why he never takes shots at the greatest of all time (Eminem).

Niggas dont realize Feminem was sent out as hip hop saviors by WHITE execs. But them white guys got yall young fag ass niggas to believe Em the goat. Plenty of black lyricists would kill Feminem on the mic (pac, big, nas, dmx, big boi, gza) but cuz all these white people and uncle toms love ridin Ems dick, he gets too much hype for wack shit now.
    • dfgdfg
dont be a jelly as nigga cuz this white boy can outrap your whole race..
    • BLACKPEOPLEAREMORERACISTSOMETIMES
      again Racist
    • HHFL
I agree with you yo. DMX, GZA, Andre, Nas, Mos Def, Method Man, Raekwon and many more could kick Ems ass
    • g.d.stubb
funny. dre got paid *lovely* off of signing eminem. this is not to say that mr. mathers didn't have a little bit of white privilege in his favor. if you know your american music history you know this is the truth. em was smart by focusing on *dramatics* and *shock value*. despite all his amazing technical proficiency and innovative approaches to subject matter, never in my live have i heard eminem flow in a groove like any of the emcees that HHFL mentioned. he's just not that soulful a dude. and when i say soul, i'm talking about al green, isaac hayes, curtis mayfield, millie jackson, nina simone etc. soul. test my theory with this little thought experiment: imagine any of the emcees that HHFL mentioned writing and performing "Stan" or "Lose Yourself." not that either of these tracks are in any way wack, but they aren't written from the perspective of Black Life, which is as much a part of the hiss of Meth's inhale, DMX's growl, GZA's cold precision, Andre's fluidity, Nas' intellectual strut, Mos Def's flexibility, and Rae's slang, as it is they lyrics themselves. and in the end, like GURU said: "It's mostly the voice..."

  • Truth Hurts
You people think rappers like Soulja Boy, Cheif Keef, Bobby Shmurda or the ones destroying hiphop, but it's not. They are one element of hiphop. Whites are Culture Vultures destroying this shit... Yall wont realize it until it's too late. Look at the bigger picture. People. They are not only stealing the music, but stealing the culture, they are copying our every blink. Did you see this VMA satire that was on television? Where is Lord Jamar when you need him?
