Cocaine Muzik Group member Snootie Wild enjoyed some success earlier this year when his single “Yayo” broke into Billboard magazine’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart at the #50 spot. The track climbed up 20 spots on the chart, where it eventually peaked, and Snootie points to his collaborator and CMG’s de facto leader Yo Gotti for teaching him the ins and outs of the music industry.

“I’m learning how to work the crowd just watching Gotti perform and move with his team,” Snootie Wild said during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. “I most definitely mimicked that and [incorporated] that into my own thing. He’s a great teacher, but at the same time it’s definitely good to watch and learn instead of just hearing about it.”

Following the commercial success of “Yayo” and its remix featuring Fabolous, Jadakiss, French Montana & YG, Yo Gotti and the CMG collective released the CMG Chapter One mixtape. The free project included Snootie’s “Made,” which features K. Camp, and Snootie Wild said fans can expect another version of the song with an additional guest.

“Shout out to Lil Boosie for supporting it and coming through the [‘Made’] video shoot,” Snootie said. “He will be on the remix. That’s my guy. He’s a legend, but at the same time he’s real humble. Me and him got a similarity since I was down for four years too, so I understand where he’s coming from.”

Snootie Wild’s debut EP, Go Mode, is scheduled for release September 18 via Cocaine Muzik Group/Epic.
