On Tuesday (August 12), Rakaa Iriscience, Evidence and DJ Babu celebrate their latest release as Dilated Peoples, Directors Of Photography.

Today (August 15), Rhymesayers Entertainment released a recap of the trio’s album release party held at Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles, California. 

“This is one of the first places where we had a Dilated show,” Evidence says in the clip. “I don’t think it was our first show, but it was like our first successful show…Today feels like a whirlwind.”

Alchemist was in attendance to celebrate the album, which he contributed music to.

“Shout out to Dilated Peoples,” he says. “Another album. It’s good music. I guess I’m biased because I made some of the funky beats. But shit is dope.” 

Krondon, who appears on “The Bigger Picture” off this album, spoke about it, also.

“It’s an honor and pleasure for me to be on it,” he says.

Sick Jacken, who has a verse on “L.A. River Drive,” also called Directors a classic.

“Congratulations, fellas,” Jacken says. “Directors of Photography. Another fuckin’ classic.”

The album recently earned a 4.5 X rating out of 5 in its HipHopDX review. “Directors of Photography is a top-notch effort,” Homer Johnsen says of the album in the review. “Production and lyrics are both outstanding, and there are few qualms, if none at all.”

Fashawn and DJ Rhettmatic also speak on this effort in the clip.
