Young Money artist Lil Wayne was briefly confronted by a man claiming to be a member of the Crips as he was leaving Supperclub in Los Angeles this week. In the video footage of the encounter, which was posted on YouTube by PopCandies TV, Wayne can be seen walking to an awaiting Maybach with singer Christina Millian when a man in a blue cap approaches the rapper.

The man informed Wayne, who reportedly has ties to the Bloods gang, that he needed to “check in” when in the area.

“Wayne, what’s up? I’m Big Magic, cuz. What’s happening? Aye. Holla at me…You better check in, nigga…Crip, straight up,” the alleged Crip member said while attempting to get the attention of Lil Wayne.

He then followed those comments with a “Fuck Suge” and offered another message to Lil Wayne.

“Nigga can’t say shit. You can call who you want to. Birdman, anybody,” he said.

Although Lil Wayne’s exact ties to the Bloods gang remains unclear, the rapper has made subtle references to his relationship with the group.

And during an interview with Hip Hop Weekly, which dates back to 2008, West Coast artist 40 Glocc criticized both Lil Wayne and Birdman over their alleged Blood affiliation.

“These niggas be wolfin’ all that Blood shit and dissin’ Crips,” 40 Glocc said. “When Baby started gang bangin’, at 52? And Lil’ Wayne started gang bangin’ at twenty-somethin’. These niggas got the audacity to be dissin’ a whole culture they don’t know nothin’ about!”
