This week on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart, Common has the top Rap album of the week with Nobody’s Smiling, which lands at #6.Meanwhile, Trey Songz continues to reign in R&B with Trigga, although the project takes a slight dip in sales.Elsewhere Iggy Azalea reclaims a spot in the Top 20 with The New Classic. 

Common’s Nobody’s Smiling Debuts At #6

Common’sNobody’s Smilingdebuted on the charts this week at #6. The album sold 24,537 copies in its first week of availability. Recently, Common spoke about this album and what it sounds like to him. “It don’t sound like anything I’ve ever done,” he said, “but I do feel like it’s a great piece of art.” The album’s title, Nobody’s Smiling, carries particular significance for the Chicagoan. “I’m not happy we losing people,” Com recently said. “People getting shot over things that ain’t even necessary. I can’t even act like I know every situation, why it happens, but some of it… it’s become part of… away of life. People don’t value life as much as we can, as much as we should.”Nobody’s Smiling earned a 4.5 out of 5 in its HipHopDX review.

Trey Songz’s Trigga Falls To #13

Trey Songz’s Triggacontinues its success in the chart’s Top 15, this week arriving at #13. This is a drop out of the Top 10 for the R&B singer, who was in the #9 slot last week. The album sold 15,763 units, a 31 percent drop in sales from the 22,840 it sold last week. Overall, this means Trigga has sold 177,496 copies in this four weeks of availability. The album has provided the crooner with some favorable reviews. Recently, the project earned a 4 out of 5 in its HipHopDX review, which refers to some cuts on the album as “wild, yet well-delivered.” 

Iggy Azalea’s The New Classic Jumps Back Into Top 20

It has been 14 weeks on the chart for Iggy Azalea and the Australian rapper has regained success in the Top 20 with The New Classic. This week, Iggy’s debut album arrives at #18, a jump from last week’s #22 placement. Despite the gains on the chart position, Iggy’s The New Classic experienced a 10 percent dip in sales, going from 13,326 last week to 11,957 this week. Overall, in its 14 weeks, The New Classic has sold 258,386 units. The New Classic earned a 2.5 out of 5 rating in its HipHopDX review when it was released
