"So I said, 'Hey, you wanna do one?' [He was] like, 'For real?' I was like, 'Yeah. Come tomorrow,'" Premier says. "I called my camera guys, they came down, Dres spit a dope one. So from there I was like, 'Starting with Dres, I’m actually gonna make beats on the spot.' Really simple, nothing complicated because it doesn’t need to be complicated. It needs to be spitting beats. Really simple so he can rap. It’s not really about my beats, it’s about the rhymes."
After this, Jakk Frost joined the series. He was in town for a football game, Premier says. Frost also wanted to bring Premier some promotional hoodies, but why stop there?
"So I was like, 'Hey, you wanna do a "Bars in the Booth" while you’re here?' He’s like, 'Hell yeah!' So he just happened to wait around and do it and. We was just there to talk and get the hoodies. And that was his, he ended up doing that one. Freestyled it, laid it down. So I was able to double up."
That same day, another rapper also stepped in the booth.
"A.G. was there the same day," Premier recalls. "‘Cause he was working on a new Showbiz & A.G. album, and A.G. was like, 'Yo, I’ll do one too.' So I was like, 'Man, this is perfect.' Now I’m about to launch another one this week— and I said I don’t ever want to tell who’s going to be next. I think it’s better when it pops up like, 'Who does Premier have next?'
Loaded Lux came next and released his "Bars In The Booth" shortly after. But Lux won't be the last on the list.
"Now I have five other ones that I’m booking ‘cause I gotta go on the road," Premier says. "So I’ll already have some in stash. Now I’m going with some females, a few different females. Some new, some vintage. They’re dope. That can really spit dope. You’ll meet some of the the new ones coming up. It’s gonna be as dope as these four. But I’ll be launching another one this week."
