Where are the Clipse?
While there have been rumors as to why the Clipse follow up album hasnt seen the light of day or even been mentioned at all there is a new mixtape on the horizon. It seems as if they have been caught up in a record label limbo since the merging of Arista and Jive and it has benefited the duo none.
"L.A. Reid signed me and he knew what this was,"Pusha T explained to MTV. "He knew what it takes to get these street record poppin'. You go to Jive, the home of Britney and Justin, that ain't my speed. That's not the Clipse's speed." He also said that if they considered to drop another album on Jive, they would only do so if the label pushed the album to their standards. In the meantime they have started up their own label, Re-Up Records and have a crew called the Re-Up Gang.
The mixtape coming up is called We Got It 4 Cheap Vol 1 and features original Neptunes production as well as lifting some beats that may have been previously heard in the past. They are already hard at work on a second installment and are finishing songs with Cassidy and the late ODB for his new album.
