Migos questions why 2 Chainz would call them out on "Trap Back" rather than uplift them.
While speaking with MTV News recently, those in Migos questioned why 2 Chainz would criticize the group’s flow rather than acknowledge them or share his knowledge of the rap game with them.
“And just mentioning the Migos’ name as a supposed to be OG in the game, we feel like you’re supposed to be giving us [knowledge] or acknowledge us instead of doing that," Offset said. "We [don’t even] got a song with you. So, that ain’t how we rock though. We just don’t rock like that.”
On 2 Chainz’ “Trap Back,” Migos took offense to this particular lyric: “Look at my car, how did it get on dem sixes/ This flow come from Drizzy, he got it from Migos, they got it from Three 6.”
Migos member Quavo joked about the matter when asked about the origins of the Migos’ flow and informed viewers that researchers are currently looking for the group’s flow in Southern Africa.
“Actually, the origins—I just seen on Instagram where the origins, they looking for it in the bottom of Africa,” Quavo said. “So, he can’t determine the origin. I see researchers looking for it in Africa right now.”
Following the release of “Trap Back,” those in Migos turned to social media to express their frustration with their mention on 2 Chainz’ record. A handful of tweets sent from the group’s official Twitter account, which date back to May, can be found below.
