A headlining performance from Queens rapper 50 Cent at Summer Jam over the weekend has been marred in controversy due to a physical altercation that took place while the G-Unit rapper was performing. According to reports, Slowbucks, who was present on stage during the performance, was jumped and then robbed of his chain as 50 Cent performed.

During a newly-released interview with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez, 50 Cent spoke on the fight and revealed that he had no knowledge of the incident while it was taking place. Despite the altercation involving Slow, 50 says there was nothing but “positive energy” and also added that he doesn’t want to be attached to such an incident.

“I didn’t even see it,” 50 Cent said. “I was performing. People say everything. I look at MediaTakeOut see rumors and stuff like that. All those different things. But I’ve seen so many things about me that weren’t true that—It’s nothing Ang…People didn’t leave the stage. The excitement of the show left everybody that was on the stage on the stage and additional people added on to it. So, it was like a crowd. It turned into—The music fit it too. It just felt like a park jam. It felt like—When I started I started with ‘Rising To The Top.’ And it was like for Queens it was one of those joints that’s—Nas was like ‘Yooo.’ Lookin like ‘You mothafucka’…It’s all positive. All positive energy.

“You think I wanna be attached to that at this point? No, like I don’t need that. It does nothing for me. You know what I mean? I look at—People make mistakes all the time,” he added.

During 50 Cent’s performance at Summer Jam, the rapper reunited with fellow G-Unit members Young Buck, Lloyd Banks, and Tony Yayo. In the time since his performance, the group has released a new record and also revealed their plans to release a new project.

50 also addressed his reunion with those in G-Unit and stated that Young Buck has been the most motivated member so far.

“Buck is hungry,” he said. “You know what I’m saying? When you get that energy out of him. He driving them when I ain’t there. Cause he’s going ‘Yo, yo, this gotta happen now’…They know that this is really—It’s grind time. They gon’ get it. They gon’ get it. Like whenever we get in that zone it get crazy.”

In addition to his Summer Jam performance and reunion with G-Unit, 50 Cent also released his fifth studio album, Animal Ambition this week. The project serves as the rapper’s first studio release following his departure from Interscope Records, Aftermath Entertainment, and Shady Records in February.
