Jay Z and his long-standing business manager, John Meneilly, are no longer working together, according to the New York Daily News.

The publication says it was told that Jay Z is the one who ended the partnership.

The source said that it was not Meneilly’s choice to end their arrangement.

A different source says the decision to end Jay Z and Meneilly’s relationship was made months ago and that the decision was amicable and mutual.

Meneilly was credited as Jay Z’s manager on Jigga’s 2013 album, Magna Carta Holy Grail.

“Not much is known about John Meneilly, though he’s been one of Jay-Z’s most trusted managers and business advisors for years now, brokering all kinds of power moves in the upper echelon of the Roc Nation world,” MySpace.com said of Meneilly in its July 2013 story “The Definitive Guide to Jay-Z’s ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’ Album Credits.”

“What we do know: Jay shouted him out in his ‘A Milli’ remix (‘And John Meneilly-onaire is my consigliore’) and that he’s tweeted just three times, twice to boast that neither Watch the Throne nor MCHG would leak. Good track record so far.”
